The Tumblr of Sterling Gates. I write comics and other stuff. Wait, this thing is on, right?
ealperin asked: Hi there, Mr. Gates! I'm just wondering if there were any Rogues Gallery villains that you WISHED you tossed into your Supergirl run. Loved your take on some memorable ones, like Silver Banshee, as well as new ones, like Mirabai. ;)
No, I think I got to most of them, even if some were only in little cameos (like The Gang).
I wanted to do a big storyline where all the villains Jamal and I had built up were gonna for the “Supergirl Revenge Squad.” Big team of villains versus our Teen of Steel. We even talked about making a new Reactron to fill the team out.
Sales were what they were, though, so we never got a chance to do that story. C’est la vie!
Super memories!
New Krypton (Superman #681, Action Comics #871, Supergirl #35) by Alex Ross
A chilling piece by Peter Stark detailing what happens when you freeze to death. Worth your time. (via Outside Magazine.)
Who-perman.
DC, I’m game for this if you are.
(Found on Reddit but unattributed. The artist is here, though.)
I would give a LIMB to write that crossover.
No, seriously.
It’s a few months old, but this is a really great/heartbreaking essay from a teenager in Brooklyn who gets bullied because he reads.
I was bullied for reading when I was a kid. It offended me then and it offends me now. Reading is learning is life.
The imagination is a muscle. Books are the weights, reading’s the exercise. When we read, our souls grow bigger. Stronger.
If you discourage people from reading, you’re actively discouraging them from living.
Read. Encourage others to read. Trust me, you’ll all be better off for the experience!
